5-stick:
A high-quality smoke. The kind that you feel the need to call someone to tell them about it. The aromas and flavors are all distinct and complimentary. The draw is perfect all the way down. The cigar is smokable from first burn to last ¼ inch.

4- stick:
Many of the same qualities of a 5-star, but some lacking conditions. Maybe it wasn’t smokeable past 2/3rds of the stick? Maybe it was a great smoke, but there are too many that out pace it.

3- stick:
This is a good cigar. Usually an everyday kind of cigar. Nothing to write home about, but it won’t let you down either. You usually can’t go wrong buying and enjoying one of these, but I wouldn’t give it away as a ‘special gift’, more like a regular smoking buddy needs a flavor change.

2- stick:
These cigars have their moments. They tend to have a good smoke somewhere in the burn and can be good for a last-minute, just want to have a smoke, time. I probably would not give this cigar to a friend to enjoy a smoke with me and I most certainly would not give as a special gift. I might light one for myself on a not so special afternoon doing chores around the house….

1- stick:
Be wary of people giving free cigars to strangers, they might be these cigars. I would not recommend this cigar to anyone myself. I would probably leave them in a corner of my humidor ‘just to see’ if they do better with age.

If you have a favorite cigar that has been rated poorly on my blog, I will gladly reevaluate the sticks. Contact me for an address to send two stick to, and with a description that you have for the cigar that differs from mine. If I agree that I was wrong, I will admit it and update my review accordingly. I do not ‘sell’ my reviews, so if you disagree with me, make sure you send some good sticks for me to reevaluate.
